Beginning Reader
This reader may be about 4-7 years old. The ages suggested for all categories, but this category in particular, are flexible, and depend primarily on the rate of development in the individual. The books in this category are mostly picture books and easy readers. The subject matter would be concrete, and the books would contain no questionable worldviews. A child who begins to read at an older age would progress quickly through this stage, but this stage is designed for all children who are just beginning to read.
